Homebase- Final Cans

Below are the final flat plans for the can labels I designed, with my photos I took of each vegetable.

Final Designs for concertina folding booklet for individual can sales

Due to printing limitations, i could not print the plastic wrapping for the multiple sale  of the 4 vegetables for the specific soup. Below is a mockup drawing I did on Illustrator.

Homebase- Development of can labels

After I designed my final logo, i stared adding this to my can label designs....

I feel that the designs above are much more professional, but I  do still feel that something still isn't working so i tried it without the box in the image, also i added a key to it, so the customer knows when to harvest and plant the vegetables.....

The above design looks much better, but i decided I had to use my own photos, so I went out the market in leeds and got snapping :)

Hombase- Logo Development

Above are my first ideas using free hand on the right and downloaded type on the left, but I feel they look scruffy.

I then kept on with the free hand type but took more time on it above.... I feel it is much better but still looks a bit scruffy.

Homebase- Development of new idea

After looking back at my original designs of the can labels, i felt they looked unprofessional, and poorly designed. Below are the can labels developed further..... including the start of me designing a logo from the prodcut.

I felt that the designs above are a huge improvement on my original designs, but still have a lot of work to do on them... so back I went and developed further....

Homebase- Development of new idea

After deciding to change my concept from grow your own seasonal soups to jsut grow your own soups, as the previous was making it too complicated, I starting resarching more on how i could package these seeds in a clever and eye catching way.

It then came to me, grow from a can. The problem I then had was some vegetables you could not grow from a can as they were too big eg. potatoes

The idea was then to start growing in a can inside and then replant, when instructed via the key, into the ground.

My initial designs for the can labels are below......

Home base- Development- Seasonal Soups

The designs below I have explored with colour for the seasons, redesigns using both images and silhouettes of the fruit/vegetables.

To go with packaging i designed seeds packs to go inside the outer packaging as you can see in a variety of colours for each season. The white sections in a leaf shape will be cut out and see-through plastic placed behind it so you can see the seeds inside.

After feedback from my crit and tutorial, I decided that the concept grow your own soup was working, but the seasonal factor was making it too complicated, because the soups for that season didn't correspond with the vegetables grown at that season. Also I felt that the packaging did not look professional enough, and would not stand out in homebase, definitely didn't do the concept justice.

Home base- Development- Seasonal Soups

Another idea I have was 'grow your own' seasonal soups. I feel this idea has more depth and originality than the other.

My 1st initial designs are below, after researching packaging i decided to develop my idea on cartons, similar to those that Covent Garden  soups have (on my context blog).....

After looking back at these designs, i felt they were lacking depth so i decided to incorporate images within the designs.
